Day 01 : Arrival at Delhi

The national capital city will be the first base of this Splendid North India Tour where guests will arrive as part of their meticulously planned tour itinerary.  Our GeTS Holidays representative will welcome them and will escort them to the hotel booked previously under their North India tour itinerary.  Enjoy a comfortable night sleep in the hotel which will provide you new vigour for a fabulous tour ahead.

Day 02: At Delhi

Post breakfast the day will bring a sightseeing tour of the national capital.  Delhi is a fabulous blend of modern and ancient ingredients and thus a sightseeing tour to two distinguished parts of the city will be a fabulous one.  Begin your tour with a visit to the monuments of Old Delhi such as the majestic Red Fort followed by paying homage to Allah at the largest mosque in India- Jama Masjid; conclude your Old Delhi tour with visit to an ancient market, Chandini Chowk.
The attractions in New Delhi begin with a drive past Parliament House followed by a visit to India Gate- a martyr’s memorial.  The Laxmi Narayan Temple and Lotus Temple are the last sites to be visited in Delhi.  An evening tour to Red Fort will bring an opportunity to experience light and sound show at Red Fort.  Return to the hotel henceforth and spend the night here.

Day 03: Delhi- Varanasi (By Flight)

Post breakfast guests will be driven to the airport where they will board their flight to reach the holy city of Varanasi.  On arrival our GeTS Holidays representative will provide you with all the assistance required and will escort you to the hotel for your night stay. 
Later in the day start for an excursion to Sarnath, holy site of Buddhists renowned for being the place where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon to the five holy men. In the region visit Dharmarjika Stupa marking the place where Buddha preached his first sermon followed by a visit to Archaeological Museum housing collection of Buddhist relics.  Whilst travelling Sarnath also see the Ashokan Pillar with 4 lions, symbolising the Kingship of Buddha. 
Later return to Varanasi where one can choose to go for a visit to Golden Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, The Durga Temple also known as the Monkey Temple.  Back at the hotel henceforth you will have the day for relaxation.

Day 04: Varanasi- Khajuraho (By Air)

An early morning boat ride on the sacred River Ganges is the best mode to witness the morning prayers offered at the Ghats (banks of the river) with huge crowds of pilgrims and other devotees.  After the ride return back to your hotel and check out to reach the airport.  In the meantime our GeTS Holidays representative will make all the arrangements.  Guests will thus board the flight to Khajuraho as previously planned under their North India travel itinerary.

Day 05: Khajuraho- Jhansi- Agra (By Train)

Post breakfast on this day visit the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of the famous Western Group of Temples.  Pay a visit to see the massive Laxman Temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu also visit the Varaha temples, Kandariya Mahadev Temple and Chausath Yogini Temple.  A visit to Archaeological Museum will avail an opportunity to explore the collection of stone artefacts of Chandela dynasty preserved well. 
Visit the Eastern Group of Temples thereafter to see Jain Temples of Parsvnath, Adinath and Shantinath.  Later drive to Jhansi and pay an en route visit to Orchha.  On arrival at Jhansi reach railway station to board your overnight train to Agra.

Day 06: At Agra

Early in the morning guests will proceed to visit the eternal emblem of love, the Taj Mahal. The Taj Mahal is the symbol of eternal love, created by mogul emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his beloved wife Mumtaj Mahal, it appears most beautiful in the morning rays and thus guests will first visit it in the morning and then return to the hotel for a rich and delicious breakfast. Post breakfast, they will be escorted by the GeTS Holiday representatives for a sightseeing tour of the city of Agra. Guests will visit other historic monuments of the city like Agra Fort, Itmadullah’s Tomb and others. After a tiring but enriching day, guests will return back to the hotel for the overnight stay.

Day 07: Agra- Jaipur (240 kms/ 5 hrs.)

Post breakfast on this day of North India itinerary drive to the next destination, Jaipur, the ‘Pink City’.  Guests will take a halt at Fatehpur Sikri on route to visit the deserted city of Mughals.  Fatehpur Sikri built in red sandstone was constructed by Emperor Akbar in honour of Saint Salim Chisti.  Continue with the drive henceforth to reach Jaipur.  On arrival check in a hotel booked for your night stay and then explore your options for the evening.  One can opt to visit the colourful markets of Jaipur or to enjoy a lavish dinner at Chokhi Dhani, a five star property with a traditional village setup.  Retire to your rooms in the hotel late in the evening for overnight stay.

Day 08: At Jaipur

Enjoy your breakfast in Jaipur and then proceed for a sightseeing tour of the city.  Our GeTS Holidays representative will escort you to experience an insight into the regal past of Rajasthan as you visit the magnificent Amber Fort.  Situated on a hillock it can best explored with an elephant ride.  Return to the city by afternoon to visit City Palace, which is a splendid edifice illustrious with a blend of Rajasthani and Mughal architecture.  Visit Jantar Mantar next which is an ancient royal observatory followed by a visit to Hawa Mahal which was a hang out place for royal ladies from where they used to see the daily processions in the city. 
Later in the afternoon drive to the local markets to visit shop for famous handicraft articles.  Return to the hotel henceforth for your comfortable sleep.

Day 09: Jaipur- Delhi (260 kms/ 5 ½ hrs.)- Departure (By Flight)

Post breakfast on the last day of Splendid North India Tour guests will drive back to Delhi.  En route pay a visit to Neemrana Fort which is one of the most magnificent of all forts in Rajasthan.  Continue with the drive to Delhi where on arrival our GeTS Holidays representative will escort you to the airport from where you will board your flight back home.
